The primary objective of this plan is to reduce site flooding and maintain the site's rural territorial character with a direct connection and respect for the site's natural elements.  The creek restoration was to a portion of a salmon habitat creek and outfall zone.  Larson Casteel authored and received a Community Salmon Fund (CSF) grant and a Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife Landowner Incentive Program (LIP) grant to help initiate the project.  To meet the grant requirements throughout this 5-year phased project we facilitated the construction administration, coordinated volunteers and prepared project documentation.

Kitsap Creek, which had been reduced to a small grass-edged ditch on the property annually flooded this and adjoining properties.  The owner expressed a strong desire to restore salmon to the creek and embarked on a journey in the restoration of the creek.  The existing culvert was pulled and replaced with a bridge.   Currently, the stream no longer floods and through careful stewardship has become an ever-changing enhancement to the existing property.
