A mitigation plan for Dogfish Creek was required for the rebuild of Mitzel’s Restaurant located in Poulsbo Village. Dogfish Creek is bordered on the east by Highway 305 and on the west by Poulsbo Village.
The native plantings along the creek were carefully designed to below sightlines to provide visibility from the road to the businesses in Poulsbo Village. In addition to visibility, safety was also a key issue. Trees were placed away from utilities and in locations that will not be threatening to the road in the case of wind-throw.
Key Project Elements:
- Habitat restoration in & around the creek
- Visibility & traffic safety along Highway 305
- Visibility of businesses in Poulsbo Village
